Black Friday is Over!

Well, I wasn't anywhere near a store on Black Friday. Those days are long past for me. There is nothing out there I want that much that I'll get up at 4:00 a.m. for. Ok, I did want the laptop for $299 at Best Buy but couldn't justify it so I didn't have to roll out of bed in the wee hours of the mroning. (G)

I also heard from my son away at Boot Camp last night. He said it's harder than he thought (duh) and he's sore from all the push-ups and sit-ups they're doing to get them in shape. And no, they didn't get a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving either! He'll be home for the holidays within a month and as much as I was glad to get the house all to myself again, it'll be nice to have him here for the holidays. He did say they were issued their M16 rifles yesterday. Last thing a mother wants to hear!!!!!

Ok, on to writing. I'm proud to say I just got my partial ready to go out the door to Harlequin this coming Monday. It's a book I love and I hope they love it just as much. Next up, I have a short story to finish for Wild Rose Press, then it's on to my single title that's been hollering at me to get done. This will be my first women's fiction single title, and it's a new one for me.

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend and that your turkey day was the best!!!! Take care, till next time. Patti

Happy Thanksgiving

Hey everyone, sorry for not posting sooner. It's been a crazy and exciting month. First and foremost, my son just entered the Army and is now at Boot Camp. Seems really weird not to have him here in the house with me during the day time. He will be home on leave at Xmas and I am looking forward to hearing all about what he is up to. I am very proud of him for volunteering to serve his country.

On a writing note, I am happy to announce the release in both ebook and print format of my second book with The Wild Rose Press, Take No Prisoners. Take No Prisoners is the story of soap opera diva Frankie Canfield who comes home to Harmony to marry the sheriff in a PR stunt, not knowing the man she thinks she is pretend marrying has died and a new lawman has taken his place, her old lover Jake Maxwell. Watch the sparks fly as these two reunite in more ways than one! You can read more about it on my books page. I was also excited to learn that Take No Prisoners was on the best sellers list at TWRP this past week. How cool is that???

I'm busy working on my next submission for TWRP and also looking forward to the as yet unreleased paranormal The Laird's Lady. If you like men in kilts, then this one is for you. Oh yeah and if a man in uniform does it for you, then you definitely have to check out Take No Prisoners. (G)

Hope you all have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving. Enjoy the time with your family and friends. Life is a precious commodity you shouldn't take for granted.

Take care all, till next time, Patti

It's November, Brrrrrr

Well, another month has flown by and I can't say as I remember too much of it. Been very busy on this end. Had galleys for Take No Prisoners, edits on The Laird's Lady, and a great trip to Seattle for the Emerald City RWA Conference. Met so many nice people that made me feel right at home day one!!! The workshops were wonderful, lots of good information to put to use in my own writing and I had three appointments, 1 with an editor, 2 with agents and all three have asked for stuff from me. So my week is a busy one.

And if that isn't enough, my son Brian was accepted into the Army last Thursday. I am so proud of him and at the same time scared out of my wits. He leaves for boot camp in S Carolina on November 15th. We're having a big family dinner (an early Thanksgiving dinner) this Sunday for him to celebrate and also for family members to say farewell. Will feel weird without him here. He moved back home in July and now will be gone again. Rumor has it he will be home for Xmas!!!!

But they do grow up and fly the coop. Take care everyone til next post, Patti
